Student of the Month: Brenna Beall
Many people have heard the saying, “April showers bring May flowers.” Well in Second Grade, this old saying is also true: April is the month to begin showering our students with our favorite units while engaging them with hands on activities! In this effort, please take time to visit our “STEAM Night” on April 26, 2017 at 6:30pm. This event is a great way to see how your child has bloomed this year.
In Math, students will continue to add and subtract with and without regrouping and estimating sums and differences. After this unit, we will dive into fractions.
In Social Studies, we will begin our Native American and “Healthy Me” rotations. The kids will love traveling to all of the second grade classrooms.
As part of the Language Arts non-fiction curriculum, students will have a chance to explore nonfiction books and identifying text features.
As we eagerly approach the changing season, and prepare for the end of the school year, please remember to always contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
