Welcome to the 2024-245school year! We are thrilled to be back with our students. Piney Branch has two school counselors to provide counseling support for your child. Ms. Nicewonger and Ms. McAfee are full-time and available Monday-Friday.

If your student is in need of assistance from a counselor during this difficult time, please use one of the numbers below.

PWCS cares deeply about students' emotional well-being during their time away from school. If a student is in need of emotional support during this time, please feel free to send an email to [email protected]. A school mental health or health professional will answer and offer virtual support to students to the best of their ability. This email is not to be used for emergency situations as it will not be monitored 24 hours a day. If a student is ever in an emergency situation he/she is encouraged to call 911 or utilize one of the resources listed below:

Comprehensive School Counseling Program

Our school counseling program offers a variety of services to help your children with their social/emotional, academic and career development. Services can be provided in three ways:

  • Individual counseling
  • Group counseling
  • Monthly counseling classroom lessons.

School Counselors are also available to meet with parents on an as-needed basis.

If you do not want your child to participate in the Social/Emotional Lessons you have the option to opt him or her out. You can fill opt-out by contacting Mr. Thorne at [email protected].
